Leather Vs Ponmo; FG to Ban Ponmo?

Well, seems like Dr Akinwumi Adesina; Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture stated regulating the sale and consumption of hides and skins in the country would boost its leather industry (Really??).

One has to wonder why after years of enjoying the “No Nutritional Value” ponmo our dearest FG decided to slam a ban on using cow skin for consumption but rather focus on using this delicious bit as a fashion aid.

Though it seems this topic has been under deliberation for some time as a viable option to create more revenue for Nigerian citizens, there is still the issue of a “regulation” increasing the price of ponmo in the market, thereby taking it off the shelf for consumption for people with light pockets.

Nigerians aren’t taking this “let’s move forward Nigeria” incentive well in the least as many have taken to the internet to air out their grievances, asking why of all the social economic problems as yet to be fixed would the FG focus on their wonderful poor man meat!(Abi O!)

We can’t deny an Increase in our GDP (Gross Domestic Product) might guide us to higher heights of revenue so really it’s down to this... More money or less munching while wacking Edikikong soup.

What do we think hmmm…..
